The International Medical Geology Association recognized the US Chapter as an official chapter in the Spring of 2012. We currently have more than 50 members from a variety of backgrounds, including geology, medical, and veterinary sciences. The chapter members are conducting research in a wide variety of fields from nano-technology, energy, dust, water, and medical mineralogy. We are reaching out to new and current members through a variety of social media methods as well as with a new website.

We are planning a short course for the Fall 2013. This two-day short course will focus on the tools needed to perform research in Medical Geology. We would like to have sessions in Statistics, Risk Assessment, Survey Methodology, Field Collection Procedures, and Analytics as well as case study sessions in Air, Water, and Soil.
