THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE OF GEOLOGY AND CLIMATE CHANGE AMONGST THE GENERAL PUBLIC

NAPIER, Caitlyn, Department of Natural Science, College of Coastal Georgia, 1 College Drive, Brunswick, GA 31520

This project aimed to determine what kind of relationship was present between general knowledge on climate change and geological processes in the wider public. An anonymous survey collected responses from a wide range of demographics, which was then used to conduct statistical and literature analyses. Questions related to climate change individually, geology individually, and the two combined were asked to gauge individuals relative understanding of the two concepts. The results allowed for conclusions to be drawn as to the nature of the relationship between knowledge on climate change and knowledge on geology.
