JENS, John, US Army Corps of Engineers, Army Geospatial Center, 9302 Alexa Ct, Manassas Park, VA 20111

Careers in the military for a geologist can be extremely varied, both as an active duty person and as a civilian supporting the military. The methods and career names have changed; also, the basic knowledge has grown. From plane table and alidade to drone-based sensors, the geologist's tool box has become a virtual bag of futuristic technology. Supporting the active duty military is a satisfying career in public service unlike any other.
